Each Enteric Coated Omega-3 capsule contains 1000 mg Fish oil concentrate comprises Omega-3 fatty acids as active substance. Fish oil is a rich source of the essential omega-3 fatty acids EPA (Eicosapentaenoic acid) 180mg and DHA (Docosahexaenoic acid) 120mg.

Enteric Coating helps eliminate fishy aftertaste because it helps protect the softgel against the stomach acid and brings the fish oil to the intestines (from where one does not burp, as this would happen from the stomach). The coating also aids the absorption of Omega 3.

This product has a mercury-free certificate, which has also been approved by the Food and Drug Administration of Iran. Due to industrial activities, mercury pollution is common in products derived from open ocean fishes. Mercury intake poses serious risks to human health.

Contraindications

Warnings and Precautions

Talk to your Dietitian, Physician or Pharmacist before taking this supplement if any of the following applies to you:

• You are due to have or have had surgery recently.
• You have had a trauma recently.
• You have a kidney problem.
• You have diabetes which is not controlled.
• You have problems with your liver.
• You suffer from arrhythmias.

Use in elderly: Use with care if you are over 70 years.

Use in children: Children should not take this supplement.

Interactions

Please tell your doctor if you are taking, have recently taken or might take any other medicines, including medicines obtain without a prescription. This applies especially to the medicine listed below:

ibrutinib, alteplase, apixaban, aspirin, clopidogrel، cilostazol, dabigatran, diclofenac, dipyridamole, enoxaparin, heparin, ibuprofen, indomethacin, ketorolac, meloxicam, naproxen, pentoxifylline, piroxicam, rivaroxaban, warfarin, tolmetin, ticlopidine, tirofiban, reteplase.

Dosage & Administration

Always take capsules exactly as your Dietitian, Physician or Pharmacist has told you. You should check with them if you are not sure.

• Adjunct to diet and statin in type II or III Hypertriglyceridemia and adjunct to diet in type IV hypertriglyceridemia Adult: Initially 2 capsules daily, increased, if necessary, to 4 capsules daily.
• Adjunct in secondary prevention in those who have had a myocardial infarction in the preceding 3 months.
• Swallow the capsules with a drink of water after meal.

Side Effects

Like all dietary supplements, omega-3 capsules can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. The following are side effects that may happen with this medicine:

Common: Stomach problems and indigestion (dyspepsia), Feeling sick (nausea).

Uncommon: Abdominal and stomach pain, Allergic reactions, Dizziness, Problems with taste, Diarrhea, Being sick (vomiting).

Rare: Headache, Acne, Itchy rash (pruritus), High blood sugar levels, Liver problems.

Very rare: Blood in your stools, Low blood pressure, Dry nose, Raised red skin rash (hives or urticaria), Changes in the results of certain blood tests.
